Thank-Full- ness

This year I am super thankful. It's been a tough year. A year of struggles in my marriage and life. But it has only made me more thankful. I am FULL of Thanks. I absolutely can say that I understand the word "LOVE" in a whole new way. I am thankful for the sacrifice that Jesus made for me. I am thankful for the family(and the past, he has blessed me with, even my "Mum".. oh sweet Peter) I am thankful for my husband, I am thankful for that SUPER guy ,Peter ,that changed our lives, and I am thankful for my children, my home, and a healthy life. Freedom, living in the USA, and the many blessings that come with it.

This year has been tough. BUT because of it, I am only MORE thankful than I was lastyear.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. Hug your friends and family today.

Another "Anthropologie" inspired project.

I love Anthropologie. I love the EYE candy it offers. The Creativity that is around every corner. I love that you can walk in there and gaze at all the different displays in Awe. I love everything about it, except the prices! During the summer I went in there to look for a dress and just left thinking, I can find that somewhere cheaper.. Bummer is, you will never find anything as COOL as what Anthro. offers. The store is amazing.

Recently I was looking at the holiday decor online and came across a very FUN tree topper. Anthropologie was asking $398.00! I cant even imagine it! So, I decided to take on the challenge of making one of my very own! I began by scouring our local dollar stores and my home for any "tid-bits' that would work on my wonderful creation. I found lots of interesting things.

cute little birds

moss

fantastic glitter branches

gems, pearls and stones

burlap(my new love)

fabric

and tulle(my other love)

I started out placing all my branches in place. Then began adding, and adding, and adding. Until I came up with a fabulous creation of...... WONDERFULNESS.

Here she is.. Miss America..

My 13 year old daughter keeps walking up to it and saying, "I still dont understand WHAT it is?" Rude.
I told her it is going to be my CROWN that I wear to her FIRST volleyball game! Perfect.

JUNK SWAP.

Lastnight was fabulous! I attended the second annual "Junk Swap".
And let me tell you something.. it was not JUNK. People brought fabulous stuff( I promise I will share what I got on my next post!) The evening was hosted by the lovely Dani. She out did herself and her home was absolutely gorgeous! The food was wonderful and the chocolate cake with raspberry champagne.. yummmmy.... And Here' what I brought!

I am currently typing with burnt fingertips.. the tutorial means what it says when it states to USE an unsharpened pencil.. yep, make sure you do that!
It is so fabulous to be able to sit around with a group of woman that I LOVE the same thing you do..

I also have been making some other "creations", and having a blast doing it! I made THIS a few days ago.. it has been really nice, due to the fact that I have about 4 inches of grow out on my head and my hair dresser is not available until Monday.. Until then.. this little number will be on my head everyday!

For the SWAP, I actually made a scarf instead, and of course forgot to take pictures. oops.
Today I will make more, SO I will be sure to post a picture, and also show you what I scored!

New Project.

So, I still haven't gotten to the COW project. BUT I have talked to a local farmer and arranged to do the photo shoot at his farm! Its going to be super fun! His farm is amazing! Hopefully I get it done before CHRISTMAS card time!

I have been busy working on other photo shoots though! This last few weeks I was completely swamped with SENIORS that were last minute trying to get their pictures done to be submitted into the yearbook! It was a whirl wind but I got them all done and everyone was super happy with them! Love it when that happens!
I also did a fun shoot of my cousin and her family... I am working on turning these into a canvas print right now... but of course because Im too CHEAP to pay for one.. I will attempt to obtain the look myself and probably end up spending just as much! ha!

Heres the beginning of the projects... stay tuned!

A Life Change...

I have been neglecting my blog.
I have been busy.

With what?? Life.

I have been enjoying photography still but I have decided something.
Photography is not FUN to me because I take a picture. Infact that is my least favorite part. :)
Photography to me is FUN because I LOVE to edit pictures! I love the "graphic design" factor.
I love taking the picture(remember, not literally) , changing the color, cropping, twisting, adding some text, maybe alittle glitter, and if I could a big GEM:)
The fun part for me is the ART of changing the original boring picture. I love looking for locations... thinking up poses... outfits, hair, etc. But the picture part. Eh. Its just not FUN for me.

I have a plan.
I want to start getting into canvas art. I think its my VENUE:) More my style. Ofcourse I will still have to take the picture.. its just part of the "process" I guess... and thats ok. But I am looking forward to tackling my first "CANVAS print"... I have it all dreamed up in my head. It includes a COW, yep.. you heard me right, and glitter. :) IT includes my kids... and milk. I hope to accomplish it in the next few weeks.. I will keep you posted. For now.. here are some shots I have done recently... My favorite are the "most edited ones" :) and today I actually have a "shoot" for a senior boy:) Boys are especially FUN to take pictures of... just kidding! Its torture for BOTH of us!

Here are two shoots that I recently.

Pheewwww...

I am back... Phhewwww.. WHAT a couple of weeks! Two shows, (both 5-6 hours away) School starting (I am still in shock I have a 7th grader!) and House projects (I'm doing a MAJOR clean out.. fall cleaning?)
I am so excited that it is time to take out the sweaters... purchase some NEW boots, and put on a pot of soup! I love Fall... I love watching the leaves that are changing out my back window.
Although our weather is still VERY warm... I can feel the crisp-ness in the air.
I also have been working on a very FUN project! I got a call from an old high school friend who is in the process of starting a new business! She asked ME to take some pictures for her!! I was so excited (Did I mention I bought a BRAND new camera!!) and took on the challenge of still photography! It did NOT come easy to me. I felt discouraged after the first day... but came up with some pretty good shots! :) Go check out her website! These cakes are soo fun! And she even has been contacted by BRIDE mag! These little cakes are perfect for any party! Baby Showers, birthdays, and WEDDINGS!

Alot has been going on!
I have been busy trying to get ready for TWO shows! Yep.. two shows in two weeks! Why do I do this to myself? I have NO idea... wait? Oh yah.. because I absolutely LOVE it.. I love to create all the fun stuff for people to come "oooohh" and "awwwww" over:) It always is so rewarding once the sales start and customers start going WILD over our stuff!

The first show that WILD WHIMSY will be participating in is actually a NEW show that we have never done before. It will be hosted in Cheney Washington at RED GATE Farm.. it will be interesting to see how we do there beings it is a new venue:)
The second show will be THE VINTAGE BARN show, in Rathdrum, ID. If you have never been to this show, its absolutely fabulous!

Alot of other things have been going on in my life. Some good, and some not so good. I feel as if the LORD is working in my life like wild fire right now. In the last few months I have had to really do a self examination on my heart.. my fears, and my "journey". It seems that as I get older I realize that I am at a complete loss to how I feel about things. It seems that in my 20's I had ALL the answers.. I was a woman of HIGH expectation and somewhat legalistic views. I am coming to a place that I feel as if I am starting life over, with a new heart, and a new outlook on what the LORD really desires for me. I am excited what he has left to work on, and mend back together and yet, I know I have alot further to go....

My oldest is getting ready to start PUBLIC school for the first time. This is a HUGE thing for us... I have homeschooled my kids for the last 4 years, and before that they attended a private Montessori school. I am so excited for her, I think this is exactly what she needs. She has NO idea what is coming.. I think her ideas of "real" school is very "High School Musical" if you know what I mean... :) But, I think she is going to adjust just fine, and hopefully enjoy it as much as I did! :) and of course, hopefully not be to bummed when the lunch room doesnt break out into song and dance, complete with Zach Efron.
